At Walsall Academy, we remain committed to providing the very best opportunities and education for our students – raising aspirations and supporting both academic and vocational excellence.
Ofsted commended us in 2022, Stating: “Students in the sixth-form benefit from a high-quality curriculum offer” and “Staff’s strong subject knowledge helps students to achieve well”.

Our students are nurtured to develop a love of learning, creativity, curiosity, and the ability to think critically and analytically.
Our Sixth Form curriculum includes both facilitating A-level subjects and a strong offer of accredited professional qualifications, including an established suite of T Levels.
We are proud to share that in 2024, 70% of our Year 13 students progressed to higher education, with 27% now attending a Russell Group university.
A particular highlight of Year 12 is our two-week work placement, designed to enhance vital employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and adaptability.
Our Sixth Form students benefit from Higher Education and Employer Fairs, alumni visits, mock interviews, CV workshops, Apprenticeship Academies, and simulated apprenticeship assessment days.
We are always delighted to welcome back former students who return to inspire our current cohort. At a recent alumni event, one student said: “I’ve never had as much support as I did between 2013 and 2018.”
The high expectations we hold for both staff and students create a unique learning culture – one that inspires achievement and celebrates success. We empower every student to unlock their academic and personal potential and take ownership of their learning.
