SCHOOL OFFERS STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY AND SUPPORT TO THRIVE IN ACADEMIC SUBJECTS, CULTURAL ACTIVITIES, SPORTS, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL ENDEAVOURS.

The Royal School offers a diverse and vibrant sixth form experience. Not only do our students achieve excellent results in the most rigorous, facilitating academic subjects, but the requirement for them to take on roles of responsibility alongside the arrival of new faces in Year 12 brings an added dimension to sixth form life.
Sixth Form students are attracted to The Royal for several reasons. We offer a broad range of A-level and BTEC subjects and students do particularly well in the traditional facilitating subjects required by Russell Group universities. The average class size is 15-20, allowing everyone to receive the individual attention they deserve, resulting in strong, positive relationships forming among peers and between students and teaching staff.
High academic achievement is only part of the story. Universities and employers are increasingly drawn to applicants who can demonstrate leadership, determination, resilience and flair.
The Royal School excels in this style of ‘leadership education’ providing students with ample scope to thrive in cultural activities, competitive sports, and entrepreneurial endeavours, as well as opportunities to travel. Every sixth former is expected to play an integral part in school life – be it through our house system, by mentoring younger pupils, or by getting involved in charitable activities.
