At South Staffordshire College, we help you turn interests into skills and real opportunities. Our courses are practical, hands-on and designed to help you stand out at your next step, whether that’s work, an apprenticeship or university. You’ll learn in modern, industry-standard facilities with tutors who know their subjects inside out because they’ve worked in the industries they teach. From day one, the focus is on building real skills, not just passing the course.
Study locally, choose what suits you best.
We have five colleges across South Staffordshire, allowing you to study close to home. Our new Tamworth College opened in 2025 and offers a modern learning environment with a wide range of career-focused courses. You can study subjects such as barbering, hairdressing and beauty, alongside business, computing and IT. There are also strong technical and trade pathways including bricklaying, carpentry, electrical and engineering, as well as courses in health and social care, early years, catering and hospitality, sport, travel and tourism and uniformed public services.
Torc College is the place to study if you’re interested in building a practical, hands-on career in the construction industry. Based in Tamworth, Torc College offers specialist facilities for higher-level construction, carpentry and bricklaying. Your learning will take place in industry-standard workshops, giving you the chance to gain real experience and confidence in a professional environment.


Rodbaston College is the perfect place to start a career in agriculture, animal care, canine care, veterinary care, arboriculture, countryside management and equine. Rodbaston isn’t just a land-based college – you can also study uniformed public services and train in trades such as plumbing and motor vehicle, learning in specialist facilities including our Net Zero Energy Training Centre.
Lichfield College is where you can turn your creative passion into skills. You can study art and design, fashion, games art, esports, journalism, media, music, photography and performing arts. At Cannock College, you can study a broad range of subjects such as bricklaying, business, carpentry, digital, electrical and engineering, as well as health and social care, early years and esports. Earn while you learn with an apprenticeship.
If you like learning whilst getting paid, an apprenticeship could be the perfect option for you. You’ll put the skills you learn at college into practice in the workplace, while earning a wage and gaining real experience. We offer apprenticeships in a wide range of areas including accounting, business administration, customer service, early years, electrical, hairdressing and barbering, HR, teaching and learning, and trades such as bricklaying, carpentry, electrical, engineering, gas, plumbing and property maintenance. Gain technical skills with a T Level.
Designed with employers, T Levels give people aged 16-19 the chance to develop practical and technical skills for a specific career pathway. Equivalent to three A-levels, T Levels carry the same UCAS points and offer clear progression into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher education. With a T Level you’ll combine classroom learning alongside an industry placement, allowing you to gain real experience of the workplace alongside your studies. At South Staffordshire College, T Levels are available in animal care and management, building services – electrical, engineering and manufacturing, media broadcast and production, education and early years, health and motor vehicle. At each college, we have dedicated learning support teams to ensure your individual needs are supported to enable you to reach your full potential. At Rodbaston and Torc Colleges we also have a dedicated provision called Futures for students aged 16-25 with high needs, offering specialist support in a safe and supportive environment.
